Solar Energy Advantages Disadvantages

Many of us know that solar energy is a good thing, but few really understand why. Therefore, I compiled a comprehensive list of solar energy advantages and disadvantages that will enable you to make an educated decision whether on not Solar Power is right for YOU.

Solar Energy Advantages

Atomic Save

1. Saves you money

Solar Energy Advantages Disadvantages

After the initial investment has been recovered, the energy from the sun is practically FREE. The recovery/ payback period for this investment can be very short depending on how much electricity your household uses. Financial incentives are available form the government that will reduce your cost. If your system produce more energy than you use, your utility company can buy it from you, building up a credit on your account! This is called net metering. It will save you money on your electricity bill if you have one at all. Solar energy does not require any fuel. It's not affected by the supply and demand of fuel and is therefore not subjected to the ever-increasing price of gasoline. The savings are immediate and for many years to come. The use of solar energy indirectly reduces health costs.
2. Environmentally friendly

Solar Energy is clean, renewable (unlike gas, oil and coal) and sustainable, helping to protect our environment. It does not pollute our air by releasing carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide or mercury into the atmosphere like many traditional forms of electrical generations does. Therefore Solar Energy does not contribute to global warming, acid rain or smog. It actively contributes to the decrease of harmful green house gas emissions. It's generated where it is needed. By not using any fuel, Solar Energy does not contribute to the cost and problems of the recovery and transportation of fuel or the storage of radioactive waste.
3. Independent/ semi-independent

Solar Energy can be utilized to offset utility-supplied energy consumption. It does not only reduce your electricity bill, but will also continue to supply your home/ business with electricity in the event of a power outage. A Solar Energy system can operate entirely independent, not requiring a connection to a power or gas grid at all. Systems can therefore be installed in remote locations (like holiday log cabins), making it more practical and cost-effective than the supply of utility electricity to a new site. The use of Solar Energy reduces our dependence on foreign and/or centralized sources of energy, influenced by natural disasters or international events and so contributes to a sustainable future. Solar Energy supports local job and wealth creation, fuelling local economies.
4. Low/ no maintenance

Solar Energy systems are virtually maintenance free and will last for decades. Once installed, there are no recurring costs. They operate silently, have no moving parts, do not release offensive smells and do not require you to add any fuel. More solar panels can easily be added in the future when your family's needs grow.
Solar Energy Disadvantages

The initial cost is the main disadvantage of installing a solar energy system, largely because of the high cost of the semi-conducting materials used in building one. The cost of solar energy is also high compared to non-renewable utility-supplied electricity. As energy shortages are becoming more common, solar energy is becoming more price-competitive. Solar panels require quite a large area for installation to achieve a good level of efficiency. The efficiency of the system also relies on the location of the sun, although this problem can be overcome with the installation of certain components. The production of solar energy is influenced by the presence of clouds or pollution in the air. Similarly, no solar energy will be produced during nighttime although a battery backup system and/or net metering will solve this problem. See http://www.dsireusa.org for details on how net metering allows you to save electricity and money. As far as solar powered cars go - their slower speed might not appeal to everyone caught up in today's rat race.

Energy Conservation: Why It's So Important

As someone that has to pay bills each month, you already know the importance of energy conservation. There is no way for you to have not noticed that your bills have been increasing. It has happened and is one thing that you just should consider doing. But, energy conservation is not always something that is on our minds. If you find yourself only thinking about it when the bills for the month arrive, then you may be missing the boat.

Why You Need To Know

Atomic Save

Energy conservation is helpful in a number of ways to each of us. The most profound way that affects us directly is the cost. If you just turn off a few lights, you may not notice it. But, if you do several things to keep yourself in line with your energy goals, you may find yourself able to really save money here. Energy costs continue to rise and even if they slow down in that rise, they are not likely to come down. If you want to cut your bill down, then, you must use less energy.

Energy Conservation: Why It's So Important

Yet, there are other reasons for conserving energy as well. Consider, for example, the fact that one of the most vital fuels that we all rely on is that of oil. Some scientists believe that we will run out of oil within the next 60 years. Can you image the cost of your bills then? Still, consider the fact that many of these energy needs also produce toxins in the air. That makes them not only running out but also destroying the environment while they do it.

As you can see, there are many reasons why you, as a citizen of Earth should consider energy conservation in your daily life. Even if you just cut back slightly here and there, you will notice a difference in your bill but not necessary in your overall lifestyle. There are many benefits to taking care of the energy we use. It is a good thing for all of us to take into consideration as well. The end result is a result that satisfies everyone’s needs.

Find a few ways that you too can cut down on the amount of energy that you use. Challenge yourself to a few different limits. See if you can save just this month on your electric bill. See if you can conserve energy for your own and for the world’s well being.

An Introduction To Satellites

The television we watch at home, the weather updates we receive, the knowledge we acquire of other planets in the universe, are all possible due to satellites. Artificial satellites are man-made objects that orbit the Earth. These satellites are launched for specific purposes. A satellite is lifted from the earth's surface by a rocket and, once placed in orbit, maintains its motion without further rocket propulsion. The first artificial satellite, Sputnik I, was launched on Oct. 4, 1957, by the USSR, which triggered the space race between the Soviet Union and the U.S. The first U.S. satellite, Explorer I, was launched on Jan. 31, 1958. During the first decade of space exploration, satellites were launched from either the United States or USSR. Today, there are more than three dozen launch sites in use or under construction in more than a dozen countries.

Communications satellites are stationed in space to provide a worldwide linkup of radio, telephone and television. Echo 1 was the first communications satellite to be launched in 1960. It was a large metal balloon that reflected radio signals striking it. The first commercial geosynchronous satellite, Intelsat 1 was launched in 1965.

There are very many different types of satellites and each one serves a different purpose. Earth observation satellites are specifically designed to observe the Earth. They are used for environmental monitoring, meteorology and map making. Astronomical satellites are used for observing distant planets, galaxies and other space objects. Navigation satellites were developed primarily to satisfy the need for a navigation system for nuclear submarines. Today they use radio time signals transmitted to enable mobile receivers on the ground to determine their exact location. Reconnaissance satellites are either observation or communication satellites deployed for military intelligence applications.

An Introduction To Satellites

Weather satellites are used to monitor the weather and climate of the Earth.. They provide continuous, up-to-date information about large-scale atmospheric conditions such as cloud cover and temperature profiles. Tiros 1, was the first weather satellite that was launched in 1960.

Not so long ago, satellites were exclusive, top-secret devices. Today, they are an essential part of our daily lives.

Effect of Technology on Our Lives

Technology is an improved route to an unimproved target. Technology is associated with innovation. It involves the transformation of ideas into something useful. Innovation is just not limited to creative people and organizations, but also involves the availability of technological and scientific talent. Technology and innovation are synergistic. Technology has definitely changed our lives and for the better.

Looking back in time, we realize how much our lives have changed due to the fruits of technology. It has provided us with freedom and less consumption of time and resources. Pointing out a particular technology for the drastic changes in one's life is simply not possible. A nation's economic growth can be measured according to the level of technology. This is because a number of factors are responsible for affecting an individual's life style. The most important factor for deciding the working of a particular technology is the presence of competition. One kind of technology seems beneficial only until a technological advancement does not occur.

Atomic Save

The most effective piece of technology is the mobile phone, and now a days being equivalent to a civilization. Due to technological changes, the dependency upon technology has increased many folds. Some advancement occurs at such a pace that they become self-defeating. The ability to convert carbon dioxide into fuel energy is a breakthrough process and once well established in would change our dependency on nonrenewable and limited sources.

Effect of Technology on Our Lives

With time, the use of internet is rising rapidly. The World Wide Web literally connects over 700 million people round the globe. The state-of-the-art technology has improved our means of communication as well as our educational standards. Due to the innovations in technology, an individual can gain knowledge about any topic at any place and at any point of time in his/her life. It has allowed the ease of availability of education. It has also improvised upon ways to fulfill our needs and to meet our expectations. Innovations in today's tech-world can help us to solve urgent problems.

The revolution in technology has given rise to chat rooms, discussion rooms, personalized web pages and online databases. The IT sector has completely changed the outlook of human communication with e-mails, video conferencing and instant messaging. With the advent of technology, people are building bridges to decrease the distances in their mind. One basic drawback that has taken place is that people are becoming lethargic due to high trends in technology. It is shortening our ability to pay attention. Robotics, automation and computerization are on the go for changing our lives. Implementation of robotics will give higher efficiency and cheaper labor, thereby increasing unemployment rate.

Now the other side of technology is not so green. It is because of improvised technology only that we have seen nuclear and atomic wars. This has also leaded to increase in pollution as well as corruption. Hence, one must know how to balance between manpower and automation. In the world of automation, cars have created freedom as well as concrete jungle. Technology is affecting our near future so it becomes our responsibility to streamline it in the right direction.

Spiritual Rape

Have you ever heard of "spiritual rape?" It's probably not a term that most people are familiar with. That's unfortunate because everyone on this planet is experiencing it each and every day and they don't even realize it. The reason for this is that everyone has "learned" to normalize it and consider it a "normal" human phenomenon.

Here is what I mean by "spiritual rape"

Atomic Save

Every time you feel tired and depleted of energy what is happening? Well your vital life energy is disappearing from your physical body. Another way of saying this is that the experience of life itself is being taken away from you i.e. you are dying. More so, if you stop and feel how this feels, I think you'll agree that is not pleasant or desirable.

Spiritual Rape

Is this what you want? If not then why does it happen at all? Well partly because you "think" that this is the normal state of affairs, as I said above.

To get at the other main reason that it happens one must look for the cause of this depletion. The cause relates to all of those "beliefs" that you have acquired throughout your life that have seduced you into "investing" your vital life energy into activities that leave you feeling depleted.

These are activities that are driven by your precious beliefs and that are "supposed" to help you cope and survive here. To drive this home please be honest with yourself and acknowledge that even the most educated of us here on this planet fail to retain their vital life energy in spite of all of their "learned wisdom."

So what is one to do, discard all of one's beliefs? How will one cope let alone feel any sense of peace and security? It's no wonder many cannot wait, out of fear, to fill their minds with more information which in the end kills them.

There is a better way and I direct you to my many articles in this ezine for an answer to that question.

So coming back to the issue of spiritual rape here is what I mean.

Spiritual Rape is what happens when you are seduced into giving up your Divine Vital Life Energy to something that does not serve you i.e. separates you from your life.

This leaves one feeling depleted, drained, powerless, helpless, vulnerable, frightened, traumatized, weakened, alone, frustrated, angry, hopeless, depressed, raped and eventually dead.

You see; when one is progressively "raped" of their vital life energy their physical body dies. Yet we all "think" that the process of death is part of the cycle of life don't we? Do you see the extent to which we as a species have normalized all of this? So much so that we can't even feel how horrible it feels to be "wrenched" from life itself.

Unfortunately too many of us are afraid to feel this, thinking that by not feeling it we can somehow protect ourselves from it.

Well how protected do you feel knowing that if you allow this to continue your death is inevitable?

I have written many articles here in this ezine that relate to how one can release all of the toxic beliefs that are depleting you of your vital life energy. Feel free to read them. I trust they will help shed more light on your situation and perhaps help save your life.

Simple Water Fuel Review - Water Fuel Scams

Is the Simple Water Fuel a scam or does it really work? Because of rising fuel prices, many people are seeking alternative ways to run their homes and automobiles. Besides high costs reasons, it is also becoming increasingly important to look for new ways to generate power in order to conserve our environment. So does this water fuel system really work and how does it work?

1. Benefits of Using the Simple Water Fuel System

Atomic Save

Because of the rapid rising of gas prices, many people have been forced to take public transport to go to work or school instead of using their own vehicles. They have been forced to cut down on the usage of their cars in order to save on their gas spending. This water fuel system has allowed me to run my cars partly on water, although you may be skeptical about how water can be used to power a car.

Simple Water Fuel Review - Water Fuel Scams

2. My Experience with the Simple Water Fuel Download

I decided to get this guide and build the system to see if it works for myself. The instructions were quite easy to follow and the materials needed to construct it were easily available and very cheap. After finishing with the construction process, I installed in on my car in exactly the same way that the manual states. I was amazed at how much more mileage I was getting and that my car could actually power up with this water combustion kit.

3. How Does the Simple Water Fuel System Work?

Basically, the car is run by a gas called Brown Gas and not water. Brown Gas is made up of 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen atom, and it is extracted from water first. This extraction process is what the Simple Water Fuel system carries out prior to producing the Brown Gas. Today, I am very happy with this SWF system as I have found that it really works.

Time Travel: It's Been Done Before!

Could we really travel through time? The short answer is yes! That's right. We all have the ability to leap forward through time, even if we don't realize it. If you wanted to jump to the future, you can simply go to sleep and wake up a few hours later right? Of course that's cheating the question. We want to be able to go back and redo those silly mistakes we made many years ago. who doesn't wish they could go back and talk to their 15-year-old self? Tell them not to make the mistakes you did (or they will). Or perhaps you'd rather travel 500 years into the future and see those flying cars we were promised by the year 2000. Fortunately, time travel is theoretically possible.

In fact there is no law in physics that prevents time travel. That's right, according to all the laws of physics we know, it's perfectly plausible to travel through time at will. But as the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. Time travel is an extremely dangerous endeavor with devastating consequences, and is also riddled with paradoxes.

Atomic Save

For example, what if I travelled back in time and prevented World War II? Sounds like a brilliant idea right? Countless lives would be saved, I'd be hailed as a hero! Not necessarily. Although I'd be saving lives, I'd also be destroying others. What about all the technology that we rely on today that was developed during the war, such as jet engines and nuclear power. In fact the world map could be completely different. We could actually be worse off than simply leaving history as it was.

Time Travel: It's Been Done Before!

Another famous time travel paradox is the grandfather paradox, which basically states that if we were to say for instance, I travel back to a time before my parents were born and prevent my grandfather from meeting my grandmother. My parents couldn't have met and thus, I would never have been born. So how could I have gone back in time to prevent my grandparents from meeting in the first place.

So we can see that time travel could be a bad idea, but let's say we really want to go back in time, how would we do it? Well first we need to understand how time works.

Time is something we are all very familiar with, we all know what it is, but yet we can't see it, touch it, we can't seem to interact with it in any way, we can only observe it. Isaac Newton thought that time was constant and never deviated, which would of course make time travel impossible. Even Einstein believed it was impossible, yet it is his equations that make it possible. Einstein theorized that space and time are inexplicably linked in what he refers to as "space-time". So in theory, if I was to warp space with something extremely powerful like a black hole, I would also be warping time. While this appears to be true and scientists continue to explore its possibilities, the real possibility for time travel, seems to be in his other theory; Relativity. In fact time travel using relativity isn't just a theory, it's actually been done, several times! Now you probably think I'm crazy but the secret seems to be in going extremely fast.

According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, no object with mass may travel faster than the speed of light, which is an astonishing 299,792,458 metres per second in a vacuum (that's no air). That's an incredible 1,080 million kilometres an hour! So according to General Relativity, we can only travel at 99.99% the speed of light. But lets say for instance that I'm sitting at the back of a plane travelling at the speed of light and I walk to the front of the plane from the back at a rate of 10 kilometres an hour. I'll leave the equations out of this, but that would mean that my speed plus the speed of the plane would mean that I'm travelling at 1,080 million and ten kilometres an hour, which is 10km/h faster than light, right? Wrong. According the theory of relativity, time would actually slow down for me to prevent me from travelling faster than light. Sounds weird doesn't it.

Of course this scenario would never happen in real life, as I have already said we can't travel at or faster than the speed of light. In fact you would need more than an infinite supply of fuel to travel faster than light, which is obviously impossible.

So then what is relativity? Einsteins theory of relativity basically states that if I'm driving down the road at 50km/h and drive past someone standing on the side of the road, to them I would appear to be travelling at 50km/h, I'm sure you already know this. However to me in the car, they too would travel past me at 50km/h. But then if someone where to drive beside me in another car travelling at 50km/h, to them I would appear to be completely stationary. Hard to believe? It's the same thing that makes it look the car driving beside you on the highway sometimes seems to be floating just outside your window. I'll leave the complicated equations out of this for now, but you can use simple addition and subtraction to confirm this theory. If you're travelling in the same direction as the object you're observing, in this case the other car, you subtract your speed from theirs. So 50km/h minus 50km/h is equal to 0km/h. so they would appear to be stationary. If we're traveling in the opposite direction we add our speed to theirs. So 50km/h plus another 50km/h is equal to 100km/h. So if we drove past the other car at the same speed in the opposite direction, they would appear to be travelling at 100km/h.

So how does all this work, and more importantly, how did they actually manage to travel through time? Well as it turns out, the faster we travel, the slower time will pass. This was proven when scientists placed an atomic clock, which is an extremely accurate clock down to one billionth of a second, on the space shuttle and observed it its behavior. Before launch the clock was perfectly synced with another atomic clock here on earth, and once the shuttle had returned to earth they put the two clocks together. They then discovered the clock from the shuttle was slightly behind the clock that remained on earth. meaning time had past slower for the clock on the shuttle than the clock that remained on Earth.

So basically astronauts are in fact also time travellers. Sergei Krikalev, the current record holder for the longest time spent in space (about 804 days or 2.2 years) is actually half a second behind the rest of the world. furthermore, scientists have actually calculated that if we could orbit the Earth at 99.99% the speed of light for 7 whole years, we would actually land back on earth 500 years in the future. This effect is known as Time Dilation. What a spectacular realisation! Time travel may actually be within our reach after all. The only problem is inventing a machine or vehicle capable of travelling that fast. Unfortunately it looks like that might be just out of our reach for now. We would actually need the power of a whole star to get to that speed.

But what about travelling back in time? So far neither general or special relativity allow for travelling backwards in time and it appears as though no other laws of physics will allow travel to the past. Such travel to the past, as stated above would lead to paradoxes that could result in the collapse of an entire universe, or a completely new one to be formed. This is part of the Many World Interpretation of Quantum Theory. There are other theories to travel both forward and backwards in time such as black holes and wormholes, but I'll discuss those in the future.

So for now it looks like we could theoretically travel to the future, but unfortunately we can't go back and tell our younger self not to buy that car from that dodgy looking salesman, or to buy stocks in Apple and Microsoft when they first start out. So we'll just have to settle for travelling forwards in time at the same rate we always have, and just to wait to see what the future holds.
